Approaching Death – the Last Rites
Anyone who is seriously ill, injured, or whose health is declining notably, should receive the Sacrament of the Sick to strengthen them spiritually and assure them of our care and spiritual support.
Those who are in the process of dying should receive the Last Rites, which includes the Sacrament of the Sick, the Apostolic Pardon of Sins, and, if possible the reception of Viaticum (Holy Communion).
Do not wait to call for the Last Rites until the last minute. Once it become clear that your loved one is declining, and recovery unlikely it is time for the Last Rite.

Devotional Prayers
To enhance the spiritual growth and development of our parishioners, St. John the Beloved Disciple Parish offers two regularly schedule devotional prayers:
Prayers in Honor of our Mother of Perpetual Help: These prayers are offered weekly after the Tuesday morning 8:00 am Mass. These prayers, offered through the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help for the good of our parish, Church and the world.
Sacred Heart Prayers: To increase our awareness and devotion to the love of God manifested in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we offer prayers to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on the First Friday of every month during the conclusion of the 8:00 am morning Mass.
We encourage participation in these prayers to grow closer to Our Blessed Mother and the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Eucharistic Adoration
St. John the Beloved Disciple Church offers the opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesdays throughout the year.
Eucharistic Adoration opens with Exposition at 8:30am and continues till Closing Prayers and Benediction at 4:00pm.
Eucharistic Adoration is a beautiful and serene opportunity to be in the loving presence of the Lord. When we are in Church before the Blessed Sacrament visible on the Altar, we look at Jesus and Jesus gazes on us with love and peace.
Marriage/Wedding Preparation
Engagement and preparation for Marriage is a joyous time, and a very serious time of preparation. Marriage is a life-long commitment, celebrated and blessed in a Church Wedding.
For Catholics, a wedding is a Celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony, whereby a man and a woman solemnly vow to join their lives in faithful and loving unity for the rest of their lives. They commit themselves to be open and receptive to children and family life.
To help couples prepare for Marriage, we ask you to do the following:
Arrangements for Weddings and the celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony are made in person with the Pastor.
